HuntCo honor hunt collaboration
“Turn your passions into a career and you will never work another day in your life” ~ Clay Croft, Expedition Overland
Years ago I heard Clay say those words for the first time and it moved me! It really inspired and pushed me to turn my focus inward to discover who I was and what made me unique. For years I asked myself, ‘what are my passions’, ‘what do I love doing’?
Looking back on my life I have always enjoyed helping people. All through my time in scouts, with youth groups, in college, and with my career. It has all been centered around a servants heart. On top of that I love the outdoors! Camping, fishing, hiking, off-roading, adventure, overlanding, hunting. I grew up in a household that did not have guns, a house hold that did not hunt. Even though it was not something I did as a child, it was always something that I admired and looked up to. To me, is not about the trophy but about providing for my family. It is noted numerous times in the bible for us to utilize the animals of the land for food. God says in Genesis 27:3 – “Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me”
Back in March of 2018 we had the honor of meeting Joe Allen, Rick Porter and several others from the TV show HuntCo at the Springfield Man Show. Right off the bat there was a connection with the love of the outdoors and after several laughs over a numerous cups of coffee an idea came to us… we have a lot in common and we needed to collaborate on a project. This when our Honor Hunt was born. Our idea is simple, we are selling a specific co-branded bag freshly roasted coffee for HuntCo where the proceeds are being used to put a deserving EMT/LEO/Fire Fighter or Veterans through world class Honor Hunts that HuntCo is documenting on their TV show. We want to tell the stories of the brave men and women who don a uniform of service to our country and we want to say thanks to them by giving back and feeding their passions. Collectively we put it out to our audiences for individuals to email us nominations at firstname.lastname@example.org. We want our audiences to nominate deserving heroes and tell us why they are being nominated for the Honor Hunt opportunity of a life time. These hunts are the direct result of the support from the amazing individuals who follow our efforts. Through the purchase of the coffee that we roast for HuntCo we are empowered to not only take heroes on hunts but to also commemorate their lives and tell their stories.
Our first Honor Hunt recipient is Ernie Garza who originally hails from Texas just outside of Houston. Ernie graduated HS and went off to join the Air Force. After 4 years of active duty Ernie transitioned out of the military and moved closer to his family in Branson MO where he went on to become a detective for the Springfield Police Department. After 5 years on the force his family made the decision for something new and moved to Boise ID. Low and behold, several years later they decided to return home to the Branson MO area.
Ernie was nominated by his loving wife who went on to share parts of his story. Thank you to everyone who purchased our very own HuntCo Coffee which allowed us to say thank you to Ernie for his service. Order your bag today and help us to continue to say thank you for those who sacrifice so much for our country!
