Plan your work… work your plan.
Some times in life you realize that perfect is not necessary and in this instance that is exactly the case.
Two Sundays ago I saw that a buddy of mine who I sailed with on the USNS Shasta had made a comment to one of my FB post. Because of FB’s analytics, or for what ever reason, I realized that I had I not heard from him or reached out to him in some time… it has actually been a couple years to be honest. Point being, that it was too long so I decided to reach out. It was great to catch up with him. Like that say, some friendships just seem to pick up where they left off… Well, we did what everyone does in that moment where one side catches up the other up on their happenings and vice versa. Unfortunately, for me, it hit home again… By that I mean the fact that 22 Veterans Commit Suicide Every Day! He proceeded to tell me about how just 4 months ago, his brother, a veteran took his own life and how the family still doesn’t understand the situation. THEN, a week later I was talking to my mother who proceeded to tell me that one of her customers husbands committed suicide just 5 days earlier. THAT IS IT!!!
SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE!!! It was at that point that I said screw it! While the website isn’t perfect (complete), none of the planned bells and whistles are complete either… It may not be perfect. Hell, lets be honest. Its never going to be perfect for a perfectionist but thats not what it is about. This whole organization is forged from adversity, its driven by a purpose and that purpose is to serve those who serve. I decided to go live now because the sooner I can start making an impact the better.
This is me, Eric Hadley, pushing all in as a way to make a difference. Its time to stop the bleeding! Who wants to help me?
